Alterations and additions to a pre-19th century sandstone Victorian dwelling. A new first floor addition was proposed at the rear of the dwelling over a new family area. The proposed design reflected a contrast between the new and the existing fabric. Restoration works retained the integrity of the original fabric, whilst the new works are contemporary yet sympathetic in style, colour and finish to the existing, without resorting to replication or imitation.
